Microsoft is going to launch a new search engine. Microsoft plans to integrate the search engine into MSN Hotmail and MSN Messenger applications.

The new search engine will be launched in the US and Britain, followed by Europe.

Neil Holloway, Microsoft president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “What we’re saying is that in six months’ time we’ll be more relevant in the U.S. market place than Google. The quality of our search and the relevance of our search from a solution perspective to the consumer will be more relevant.” [Source]

Neil Holloway said that Microsoft does not plan to integrate the search engine into Windows Vista, the new Microsoft Windows operating system.

The new search engine is expected to be launched in six months.
