Create Exciting Info Products for Lasting Success

If you’ve ever tried to explain information marketing to your family and friends, you’ve likely got more than a few strange glances shot back at you.

A lot of people think information marketing is all about providing the public with stacks of boring stats and names in exchange for some miniscule pay. To them, it’s all very bland
and boring information material that is like reading an income tax amendment publication. Of course, you know better. You create vital, personable info products that provide them with
the necessary tips, hints, and even secrets on something that an audience finds interesting. You enjoy creating regular newsletters, books, and other publications to serve your
clientele in a fun and insightful way.

Well, in theory anyway.

The truth is that some info marketers are a little, well, boring. That stereotype I mentioned above is often correct in their case. Their info products are bland and often read like really, really
boring documents. You have to remember that, as an info marketer, there is an unspoken responsibility to keep what you are doing interesting. Like a working playwright, columnist, or
illustrator, your job is to make sure your info marketing material is both informative and enjoyable. People love to get info in the most fun way possible.

Of course, you’re human. You’re going to have those times when you aren’t feeling like having any fun and that there are no new creative juices flowing into your work. If that happens,
don’t worry. Take a breather and let your mind rest. You can also consider these options to put the fun back into your work:

— Get creative: There is something to be said about keeping your existing format(s) the same and your publication(s) issued on a regular basis. People look forward to getting your
newsletters time and again, day in and day out. However, sometimes this can become a bit tedious itself. Like eating a hamburger every day, people’s tastes will eventually change.
At that time, it’s time to get a bit creative. You might consider something very simple to improve your info product designs. If you’re a bit more ambitious, you might consider adding an info
web video to your web site or some illustrations to your info products. If you think your info products are getting a bit bland, a new creative addition can be a fun way to improve
them.

— Get your readers involved: Your clients are your bread and butter. They are the ones who get your rent paid and put bread on your kitchen table. It’s fair to say that you owe them your
life and, if you are sharp enough, you can get them involved in your info products. This can be fun for them, as they will enjoy inputting their thoughts and ideas into your work. It will be fun
for you, as you can get feedback from them on how your info products can improve. Contests, article submissions, personal profiles within your content…all of these are great ways to both
improve your info products and allow your readers to be involved in your work.

— Try a new idea: When all else fails, it might be a good time to gamble. You may have a wacky idea or new concept, and what is more fun than going to work on a new idea? Actually,
this is something you’ve been doing as an entrepreneur since you started your business. There are no hard and fast rules, but if your clients have been responding to your work on any level
up until now, there’s a good chance they will respond to a new idea. I’ve seen everything from comic strip info to audio recordings to far-out videos. These hit home with info
marketing clients and they could hit home with yours as well.

It’s tough being an info marketer. But you and your clients have to have fun. The more fun you are having, the better chance there is that your clients will follow suit. Never forget to make your info marketing products fun — it can really help with your success.
