Promote the Luxury of Frugal Living
Is 2010 going to come to an end as “the year of living frugally?” Everyone seems to be watching the markets, the price of oil and their own bank accounts. And no one wants to spend money a little too early and risk missing out on an even better deal.
While everyone is looking for better and better deals, many companies are following suit, promoting their least expensive items on television, radio and in grocery stores across the country.
You won’t see fancy French chefs in these commercials or families driving luxury SUVs. That’s because shiny, expensive items aren’t what the public wants…or so it seems.
You have to question whether this will work. Sure, people know they have to cut back on spending, especially since it’s getting harder to get easy credit. But, cutting back on spending
doesn’t instantly mean that people want dull and cheap products.
Sacrificing some items may be inevitable, but sacrificing comfort is something no one wants to do.
As a business owner, you may start to see that your higher-priced items aren’t moving as fast as you’d like. However, it’s important to show the benefits of your lower-priced items and how they could still satisfy the demands the high-end items once filled.
Promote the luxury of savings…which I know sounds like a contradiction in itself. There’s more to a lower-end product than just an attractive price tag. It’s up to you to uncover the
big benefits in these items and pair these with the lower price tag.
By learning to cater to needs while still fulfilling your customer’s wants, you could find your business succeeding even when it feels harder to get your products sold.
