I’m writing this information as a follow up to my free affiliate technique which I gave away earlier.
I’ve received good feedback regarding this technique. But it seems to me that many people who are tying to make money online (whether they are affiliate marketers or even product owners/service providers) have still not grasped a key idea behind making a profit online (or even offline, for that matter).
The thing with making money and generating a profit is that many people see money as something which they get. It is generally seen as something you receive from someone else.
So naturally, when people set out to make money, they start off with a mindset where they ask themselves, how can they get a certain amount of money from other people? What can they do to get a certain amount of money from another person?
But this is a very very dangerous mindset to start out with.
In reality, money is actually a physical representation for the amount of value, which you have provided to somebody else. It’s is a by product of providing value to others. Something which is generated, not received. It more like an object, or even a unit, which shows how much value you have provided to others. And that is how you should look at money.
Reader that last paragraph again – it’s really important.
This is not information, which many people know. And the reason for this is that only people who consciously provide true value and therefore make real money, know this information. And even worse, those who know it rarely explain this concept properly, or release this information publicly.
Think about the people that you know who have a lot of money. The chances are these people provide a lot of value to others. They may provide value to their employers. Or they may provide value to people via their employers or even for their own company. You will also notice that the more value they provide to others they more money they have. And the larger the group of people who have received their value, the more money this person will have. The pattern is not a coincidence, and this is a rule for anyone who has money (or anyone who wants money). That money which they have, will be there as a result of someone providing value to others.
So why am I telling you this? Well think about what you do, to generate money.
If you are an affiliate marketer, do you provide value to other people in any particular way? Now you might think that with affiliate marketing, because the end product being bought is not yours, providing additional value to a customer is not really your business. But that is totally incorrect and I’ll reveal why in just a second.
Another problem with providing value as an affiliate is that most affiliates try to be invisible to the end user. They feel as if the prospect should not know that they are making money by providing a product recommendation. But there is no reason to be shy!
Many prospects will actually find it extremely refreshing to hear from you and to be told that you are making a commission when they buy, instead of having a vague idea and being unsure – as long as you provide some value as well. So this is an excellent intro to point out the value which you are providing them with! And getting this right is so important. I’ll explain that in just a second.
In the past, I have provided additional value to prospects with my affiliate promos by learning about a particular product before I promote it. Even the very best products could use some sort of additional widget, which makes it easier for the prospect to follow the steps within the main product which is being promoted. And it is not difficult for you to let the prospect know about this and then provide the widget to the prospect, when they buy from your affiliate link.
Do you see how this provides additional value for the prospect? And this is only the tip of the iceberg.
So ask yourself – are you providing true, genuine value to other people? If the answer is no, be sure to make some additional changes to your affiliate promos or the way that you run your business.
The result: your customers will love you more, and you will have more money in your pocket.
