The Sunday Email Part 6

Can You Make Money Online?

Of course some people would say it’s absolutely possible – If they have or currently making money online. And for those who never make a single dime online before might still say the same because of the ‘evidence’ that they are seeing.

Put it this way — if you know how to make money from a business, you will know how to make money online because it’s using the same concept.

Surprisingly, many people still don’t have a clue to run a profitable business and they’re trying to make money from the internet. Websites are not considered as online businesses. You can have an online store selling stuff, but it’s not a business. It’s a website.

You either use your website as a business or as a medium for your offline business. For instance if you have a offline business, the internet is simply another marketing tool that can be used as part of your OVERALL marketing plan.

The biggest misunderstanding that beginners have is learning from the misleading information given by marketers, which is this — If you have a site, you’re going to make money online automatically.

What is a piece of crap.

Having a website is nothing more than having a storefront in the offline world. How does having shoe store is going to make money for you?

Marketing. Getting people to visit your store and buying the shoes you’re selling. The rest is history.

Why I Wasn’t Making Money Online

I could never figure out why I wasn’t making money in one of the niche markets that I was trying to penetrate a few months back.

Then later on – I realized why and I’m feeling kinda embarrass to tell you. The reason I failed was because I wasn’t offering what is expected by them and expecting to get ‘paid’ for giving lousy information! I wasn’t giving the expected value and I expect people on the internet to pay me. That’s embarrassing.

You cannot be focusing to make money online even though that’s your ultimate purpose to start an online business. That’s focusing on you. Big mistake, my friend. You need to focus on your OFFER in the way they (your prospect) would BENEFIT from it. That’s focusing on your prospect.

Now, if that’s the case, how come so many people failed to make money when they’re in the self-help niche… trying to teach other people how to be successful? Isn’t that focusing on other people?

Well, put it this way… to help others, they’ll need to help themselves first. If you can’t be super motivated all the time, how in the world can you teach someone how to be motivated? No, can’t do. Some might say “yes”, but that’s not in my vocabulary of success. I don’t believe in ‘fake till you make it’ although some people use that.

You know what, it’s really abstract to explain how this works.

Focusing on your prospect is more than just trying to be “Mr. or Ms. Nice” person with the true and sincere heart to help. Helping is good and I encourage that. But if you want to be financially rich, stick to learning how to make money first. If you’re broke and trying to do that, I wish you good luck. If you’re darn rich and just want to go out there to help, for crying out loud – don’t do business. Be a philanthropist.

We are here for business. Look. You’re here for business. I’m here for business. The reason why you’re reading this email is because you know I can deliver good and solid content for you time after time without fail. At the same time, you’ll know I”l sell you stuff today, tomorrow or whenever it is. But you’re still reading it. Am I helping you? Yes. Am I in business? Yes. Can I help for free? No because I have to pay my own bills.

Do you see what I mean here?

In order for you to make money online, you need to understand your market. To be more precise, understand how they think and what they are expecting from you. If you can do that, then you earn your ‘right’ to sell to them. And all of these can only be achieved if you start focusing on their benefit, NOT YOURS. Whether you sell or not, that’s a different story.

You probably heard two of these two statements before…

“I want to have 100,000 subscribers in my mailing list so that I can make money online.”

“I want to help people how to achieve success in their life.”

Both are correct but what are missing are these —

“I can have 100,000 subscribers in my mailing list so that I can make money online by understanding my prospect and give them what they want first.”

“I want to help people how to achieve success in their life and in return, getting paid for my effort before, during or after teaching them.”

Dreaming, Hoping And Imaging

A dream is like this…

“I can dream of becoming an internet millionaire and then I can do this, that…”

A hope is like this…

“I hope that this course will eventually teach me how to make a million online.”

An imagination is like this…

“I can imagine that my software will make one million for me.”

Scrap all of these!

I hate all of these. In fact, I hate it when people tell me what’s their dream, what’s their hope and what they imagine they are going to get — But they are not doing or not willing to do anything to make it happen.

Sounds cold and heartless right? Sorry if you’re offended because it’s my job is to inform you this. If you don’t like the real hard-hitting truth, you can seek other marketers that will tell WHAT YOU WANT to hear all the time, sell you a bunch of courses and leave your pocket dry of cash. Then when you buy the course, you’ll have your dream, hope and imagination. Anything wrong about that? Nope. It’s legal marketing if the consumer decides to buy.

Why in the world would you want to dream, hope or imagination then?

Instead of doing any of these three, you should be setting your goal, planning how to achieve it and taking action towards it. Full stop.

If you start telling people that you’re dreaming or hoping to make a million online, you’re not going to get any sympathy vote from anyone. Na da.

I know this because I’ve been in that shoe.

This is A TRUE STORY.

Again, here’s another embarrassing one…

When I first started out, I truly wanted to go into the self-help niche. Then I wrote a long email to a self-help guru explaining my condition and asking for support. Sent. No reply. Sent again. No reply. I was kinda upset with that and now I can understand why. This self-help guru probably receives hundreds of the same email like this EVERYDAY!

To cut the story short, after I’ve realized that I wasn’t going to get ANY HELP from him, I’ve set my own goal, do my own planning and take my own actions to achieve what I have today. The keyword here is, “my own”.

C’mon. Even though if the self-help guru I was seeking really, really, really wants to help – don’t you think it’s only practical that he’ll help his family members (like father, mother, brother, sister, cousins, in-laws and the long list of relatives he has), close friends, business associated, etc first?

And he really doesn’t need to prove to me that he is successful BECAUSE HE’S ALREADY SUCCESSFUL.

Whatever you want to achieve – My suggestion is to seek the information you need to learn regardless of free or paid methods, and take action towards that.

The only person that can help you is YOU.Once you do that, then other people might be able to help you. But you need walk the first step. Confucius once said, “A thousand mile starts with a single step.” My question to you is… “Can you take that first step?”

Patric, What Have You Been Doing Lately?

To be honest with you, nothing much. I’m going to test how effective of using “social bookmarking” to get free traffic. I know; it’s an “outdated” strategy by now. But I’m just going to test it out anyway. Who knows, maybe I’ll strike gold or something.

Social Bookmarking is just like adding a website to your favorites folder. The difference is that you are posting them to the web where anyone can find them. These websites have risen in popularity very quickly and are the secret to ranking well in the major search engines.

When you’re doing this, use proper tags to identify your site to others. Try to keep it under 30 tags and double check to see if they want tags separated by spaces or commas. If they want terms separated by spaces, join words with a dash or hyphen (-).

Secondly, contact friends and family to request that they bookmark your websites. This will get you extra traffic, as the more bookmarks there are of your site, the more exposure you get.

You can go to Onlywire – www.onlywire.com to make social bookmarking a breeze.

If you don’t understand a thing what I am saying, forget about it. Don’t ask me how to do this in details because I’m still learning (smile). I’m just telling you what I’m going to do soon but I’ll keep you posted whether it’s effective or not.

Are You Going To Sell Me Anything Today, Patric?

Not today. I’ll think of something good to sell you later on. But for now, I just want to go to sleep. It’s 12.15 AM here right now and I’m too sleepy to crack my brain to think of how to sell you something. And besides, I need to focus on delivering top-notch materials for my 14th February coaching program at www.internetcoachingprogram.com. It’s easy for me write today’s content because I just write whatever come to my mind or how I felt. I’ll make my money elsewhere – somewhere in the cyberspace in other niche markets, probably in affiliate marketing.

If you like it, please feel free to leave a Comment below that I can use for testimonial in the future.
