74% of online adults view marketing email communications from the company they know, according to a survey by Acxiom Digital.

The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Acxiom between September 25 and 27, 2006. The survey involved 2,541 US adults 18 years of age or older.

Acxiom Digital Survey Findings

Key findings of the Acxiom Digital survey include:

– 30% of online adults purchased a good or service as a result of receiving emails

– 85% of online adults purchased a good or service as a result of receiving emails within the past year

– 94% of online adults have received an email solicitation

– 30% said that the solicitation prompted them to respond

– 30% said that the solicitation prompted them to purchase

– 74% viewed email from companies they do business with

– 17% viewed emails from companies they do not do business with

– 60% said that offers and discounts were an important factor in their desire to respond

– 55% said that email targeted their specific interests, lifestyle

– 23% said that personalization and graphic design were important to them.
