Google Checkout has extended its authorization period to seven calendar days for guaranteed funds. Previously the authorization period was 72 hours.

Steve Stukenborg, Senior Product Manager, Google Checkout, said: “Now you can step away from the office without having to worry about charging orders so soon after you receive them.

If you miss this seven-day window, you can still charge your buyer, although you won’t be guaranteed funds. But with 168 total hours of authorization time, how often is that really going to happen?”. [source]
