Don’t be so stuffy
Warning: Don’t show this lesson to your grade school grammar teacher.
Your audience wants to know that you are a real person just like them. They want to know that you are different from all the other sales people they encounter.
Talk to your audience like you would a friend. Grammar is important, yes, but in copywriting it’s ok if it’s not perfect. Write your copy as if you were speaking to your audience one on one over a cup of coffee.
By doing so, your visitors will feel that the two of you are on an even level. They will appreciate the fact that you don’t try to put yourself above them or confuse them with hard to understand wording.
For most markets, there’s nothing more turn offish than a great product with a copy that is full of technical babble or big words that are only found in corporate meetings or the dictionary.
Take care,
