Sophos has provided the following data:

– Mytob, Netsky, Sober and Zafi worms accounted for more than 75% of all infected email

– In 2006, 5,000 new URLs were hosting malicious code each day

– In January 2006, spyware accounted for 50.43% of all infected email

– 40.32% emails were linking to websites containing Trojan downloaders

– Sophos detected 41,536 new pieces of malware in 2006.
