26% of American adults are ready to use their mobile phone or handheld device to access the Internet if mobile web pages can be easier to navigate, according to a study by Molecular, an Internet consulting firm.

Molecular surveyed 1,000 American adult consumers over 18 years of age.

Molecular Findings

Key findings of Molecular include:

– Among the Americans between the ages of 18 and 44, 32% are ready use Internet on the mobile devices

– 28% want to use their phone or handheld device for purchases and financial transactions, but the companies make it difficult to do so via these devices

– 58% of Americans disagree that data sent over a mobile phone or handheld device is as safe as data sent from their personal computer.
