Stellent has launched a strategy for managing Wikis and Blogs. Stellent’s content management capabilities allow customers to integrate Wikis and Blogs into a multi-site web content management framework.

Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent, said: “A blog or wiki is simply another Web site among the tens to hundreds of sites a company must manage. For example, a wiki could be used to create a competitive analysis or review documentation online, and a blog might be utilized to gather immediate feedback from employees, partners and customers about new product features.

Similar to other information within an enterprise, this content should be managed within a unified content management architecture. In this way, organizations can leverage the same skills, processes and software to manage all of their Web sites – leading to a lower total cost of ownership and the ability to more effectively maintain consistent branding and security across all sites.” [Source]

Stellent Universal Content Management will enable Wiki contributors to create hyperlinks in pattern-matching and wizard style formats. This allows users to link to other topics and pages within a Wiki site and other websites. When an author creates a new hyperlink about a particular subject, the Stellent system will automatically create a new page.

The technology also records a history of Wiki activity. It also allows Wiki readers to provide comments on topics or changes made to content.

The technology also provides log-formatted WYSIWYG forms which allows authors to post new blog entries without requiring knowledge of HTML.
