Nethercomm Announces Broadband in Gas
Nethercomm has announced Broadband in Gas, a new technology to provide voice, video and high-speed Internet access through natural gas.
Nethercomm, a San Diego company, is developing a new technology to provide voice, video and high-speed Internet access through natural gas. The company aims to provide 100 megabits per second to each home.
Nethercomm’s technology involves adapting the radio transmitters and receivers to send signals through the natural gas pipe lines. This will not interfere with the gas service and the pipe can deliver the gas fuel at the same time.
The company PowerPoint presentation has reported, “We are like a conventional radio station which broadcast only through the atmosphere contained in natural gas pipelines.
As we’re isolated from the rest of the wireless world we don’t need to share the spectrum”.
