23670 phishing activities were reported in July 2006. The number of phishing sites reached 14191 in July 2006, according to ‘Phishing Activity Trends Report’ from Anti-Phishing Working Group.

The APWG report has provided the following data:

– ‘23670 unique phishing reports were received in July 2006

– 14191 unique phishing sites were identified

– 154 brands were hijacked by phishing campaigns

– 15 brands were comprising the top 80% of phishing campaigns in July

– Most phishing websites were hosted in the United States

– 46% of phishing site contain some form of target name in URL’.
