RetroCoder has sued Sunbelt Software. Sunbelt anti-spyware software has marked the surveillance software of RetroCoder as spyware.

RetroCoder has a software called SpyMon. This software allows users to watch others like partners, children or employees when they use the internet.

Sunbelt has a software called CounterSpy. It scans the computer for spyware. The CounterSpy has flagged SpyMon as a spyware.

“Advice: Remove

Threat risk: Elevated Risk
Elevated threats are usually threats that fall into the range of adware in which data about a user’s habits are tracked and sent back to a server for analysis without your consent or knowledge.

Description: SPYMON is a surveillance tool that logs all the keystrokes on the victim’s computer.

SPYMON helps user to see all keys pressed as they are pressed and can even view windows and webcams of the victim’s machine.” [source]

The SpyMon download agreement has a legal condition: “If you do produce a program that will affect this software’s ability to perform its function, then you may have to prove in criminal court that you have not infringed this warning.” [source]

RetroCoder has said that Sunbelt software must have downloaded their software and then added it to their list and hence they have violated the download agreement.
