comScore Figures: Out of 5 billion searches Google accounted for 37.3% and Yahoo 29.7%.


comScore figures indicate that Google is the most preferred search engine for August.

Accordig to comScore, U.S. online users have conducted more than 5 billion searches in August and about 37.3% have used Google Search. The number of U. S. online users surfing the net, as per comScore figures, was 132.4 million in August and 131 million in July.

Google registered an increase of one percent from last year figures of 36.1 percent and Yahoo’s share dropped to 29.7 percent from 30.6 percent.

comScore figures for other search engines:

MSN’s share increased to 15.8 percent from 14.4 percent last year.

AOL/Time Warner Network’s share decreased to 9.6 percent from 10.6 percent.

Ask Jeeves accounted for 6.0 percent, up from 5.9 percent last year.
