Content Marketing Institute has published a new video, ’Twas the Night Before Break — Zero-Click Edition.

The CMI team says, “Every December, CMI’s Robert Rose wraps up the year with a playful reflection on our marketing universe, which never fails to surprise, confuse, or enshittify itself in bold new ways. (And yeah, it does feel like that’s the word of 2025.)

Last year’s holiday poem took aim at AI, because so did everything else. And while AI is still very much here (insisting it’s “only in beta”), 2025 treated us to a whole new buffet of chaos: zero-click search swallowing websites whole, every platform reinventing itself weekly, social media wobbling on its axis, and — perhaps the greatest injustice of all — the cultural cancellation of the em dash. (I’m starting a new TV Show: Law & Order: Special Punctuation Unit.)”
