Do’s And Don’ts for Posting Affiliate Links on Social Media
Affiliate links on social media are becoming a key revenue stream for creators and brands alike. They allow influencers to promote products authentically while driving measurable sales and engagement through trusted recommendations.
Blogging Wizard contributor Lyn Wildwood has published an article featuring do’s and don’ts for earning ethically from social media using affiliate links.
She says, “Affiliate marketing is easy to do on a website where you can highlight a bit of text and hyperlink an affiliate URL to it.
But because so many platforms we use today, including TikTok and Instagram, don’t allow us to add links to posts, we need to get creative.

You can add affiliate links to Facebook posts, Twitter (X) posts and YouTube video descriptions directly, but you can’t add links to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts captions.”
