Martin Beck says, “Pinterest is bringing Buyable Pins to Android.

Pinterest launched its long-anticipated e-commerce feature in June exclusively on the iPhone and iPad. Today, the company announced that it’s starting to roll out the service for Android users and that it’s launching “The Pinterest Shop,” a curated collection of Buyable Pins and products from retailers.

Buyable Pins give merchants on Pinterest the ability to offer products that can be purchased with several clicks and without leaving the social bookmarking app. Now, as the holiday shopping season starts to ramp up, US users of the Pinterest Android app will be able to buy seamlessly on Pinterest.

The company has been pleased with the performance of Buyable Pins, last month expanding access to three more major e-commerce platforms — Bigcommerce, Magento and IBM Commerce — to go with launch partners Shopify and Demandware“.
