‘Global Cyberattack Used Spam Twitter Accounts’ – ‘Mashable’
The latest post on ‘Mashable’ is titled “Global Cyberattack Used Spam Twitter Accounts”.
Lorenzo Franceschi-Bicchierai says, “A complex new cyberespionage campaign targeting governments and diplomatic agencies across the world has been uncovered by two online security companies. The attacks are particularly unusual, since the hackers are using old-school techniques and at the same time taking advantage of an Adobe Reader exploit and even fake Twitter accounts to spread the malware.
The virus, codenamed MiniDuke by Kaspersky Labs and CrySyS Lab, the companies that uncovered the campaign, has infected at least 59 targets in 23 different countries. The victim count is most likely provisional since the attacks are ongoing, according to a report by Kaspersky Labs“.
