‘What Your Squeeze Page Says About You’ by Jeffrey Wyrick

Jeffrey Wyrick’s latest article:
What you say and how you say it on your squeeze page has a lot to do with how well people will respond to the various products, services and additional info that youâ??re promoting online or off.
One thing I often ask myself when I’m doing things. “Is this newsworthy?”
At the same time you don’t want to over do things. I’m sure we’ve all read someone else’s squeeze page, landing page or mini-site sales page and just quietly thought to ourselves;
Oh Please! Enough Is Enough Stop The Hype Already Will Ya!
And in all fairness, hasn’t the word seen enough of the preverbial snake oil salesmen? Even if it’s not being done intentionally, you should always strive to be better than the next guy. What makes your squeeze page stand out above the crowd starts with the words you use and how you present them.
You need to trigger a subconcious emotional response.

When viewing your squeeze page people need to feel motivated, uplifted and compelled that whatever it is that you have to offer is going to solve some issue or problem that theyâ??ve been having.
You could have the cure to world hunger, but if no one reads what you have to offer then youâ??re message goes nowhere!
Another thing to consider on your squeeze page is your viewer’s time. Keep things short, sweet and to the point. For years I’ve told people that the average person surfing the internet browses things like a 10 year old kid with an advanced case of ADHD and a stomach full of caffeine or sugar. This isn’t meant to single anyone out. We’re all guilty of this. Heck, I’m probably one of the worst ones out there when it comes to my attention span!
You Must Master The Art Of Selling Without Selling
I’m not sure where I read that, but truer words were never spoken. What you’re working on here is a “squeeze page”, not the mission statement for the World Peace Convention, so lighten things up a bit. If anything, this is meant to be a pre-sales page that will soften the blow. Everyone knows what comes after the squeeze page, but they hold on with the thought that the “sneak preview” that you’re going to give them will provide them with some insight about the quality of the products, services or info that will be offered after they sign up. Keep that in mind.
Just a quick side note here, remember to spellcheck everything! It doesn’t matter if you’re doing a pre-release, setting up your affiliate offers, working on a huge website, creating a mini-site, posting to a social network, writing an article, working on a blog post or sending out an email.
One of the fastest ways to lose your squeeze page viewers is by showing them that you can’t spell and don’t care enough to check before you post things on the internet live for other people to view.
Also, try to remember that the words you use on your squeeze page are also very important. Using certain words too much can hurt you more than you may know, so proof read EVERYTHING before clicking to post your squeeze page live. I will go in to greater detail on this in the future, but there is one special technique that I’ll share with you before I go.
Try To Position Your Offer Around The Concept Of Free
Everyone expects something for nothing when they sign up for your squeeze page, so this can get a bit tricky. You don’t want to sound cliche” and just say something like “Sign Up Below To Get My Free Ebook”, as this has been used, abused, repurposed and then used some more!
Consider instead, what would motivate YOU at this juncture. Even if you’re still offering the SAME THING you could word things a bit differently and set up your squeeze page to say something like this;

You’ll notice the use of the color red, as mentioned in our “color psychology” article. This will draw attention to certain keywords. Another thing we’re doing is using ACTION words that tell them to “discover” and “use” this FREE system and instructs them to fill out the form on the squeeze page below.
In our next lesson we’l go over power words that will help you to motivate people, grab their attention and subconsciously make them want to take action after visiting your squeeze page and reading what YOU have to say.
