The Sales Letter Is Dead? Then Long Live The Sales Letter…

I response to recent reports of the demise of the Sales Letter, two top online copywriters state emphatically that said reports are “flawed and misleading.” John Hostler of RenegadeCopy.com states:

“The reports of the death of the sales letter are very misleading. A better way to put it would be the changing of the sales letter, which is quite true. I like to think of it as growing up.” Glenn Grundberg of WordGunner.com states:

“There will always be sales letters…how else will we sell things? The premise that the sales letter is dead is inherently flawed. What is true however, is that the format is changing quickly.” “What we are seeing is, as the web itself is moving on to Web2.0, so too is the traditional sales letter, with the addition of audio, video, social engineering methods, etc.” Both men agree that today’s marketer will need to adapt in order to continue to compete.

The advent of the various Web2.0 technologies and the way they are changing how we interact online will force the issue. It is in response to the clearly apparent gap in the education and training of many online marketers that Mr. Hostler and Mr. Grundberg have joined forces to create a unique resource that will allow the average marketer to effectively compete in today’s changing marketplace.

“GoCopyThis.com will allow the average online marketer to gain the skillset and techniques that are becoming necessary to write powerful, effective copy, and do business in today’s Internet Marketing arena without spending a king’s ransom on high priced copy whiners”, says Mr Hostler.

“In beta now, when GoCopyThis.com is publically launched it will allow the average joe the chance to learn the tricks of the masters, and compete on a level playing field with the big dogs”, states Mr Grundberg.
