LYCOS has launched ‘Lycos MIX’, a new tool that allows Internet users to search and add video clips from different sources across the web into one playlist.

Lycos MIX allows users to create a playlist of their favorite clips from multiple sites, according to LYCOS.

Lycos MIX – Features

Key features of Lycos MIX include:

– Users can create a MIX for free with three steps

– MIXES can be either public or private

– Moderated MIX features allow anyone to submit videos to the MIX

– MIX owner can approve content before it appears

– “MIX It”, a bookmarklet feature, allows users to add videos from other sites to their MIXES.

Brian Kalinowski, chief operating officer, Lycos, said: “Lycos MIX continues the evolution of community and video with a true Web 2.0 collaborative, contributory and interactive social viewing experience. Unlike social networking sites, each MIX is a collection of video clips where users socialize around content, not individual people or profiles, creating collaborations of lasting content to share with others. With Lycos MIX, users can create an amalgamation of video content where others participate by viewing, commenting and adding more clips”. [source]
