During the midterm elections in the fall of 2006, 15% of people got the election news from Internet, according to a survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project.

Pew Internet Survey Findings

Key findings of the Pew Internet survey include:

– 69% got most of their political news from television

– In 2002, 7% people used Internet to get news

– People said that Internet is a newspaper in real time

– 20% said they visit online journals or blogs

– 20% visit international news organizations

– 28% visit state or local government websites.
