28% of US Internet users have tagged or categorized online content. The content include photos, news stories and blog posts, according to a survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project.

Pew Internet Survey Findings

Key findings of the Pew Internet survey include:

– 7% of Internet users tag or categorize online content in a day

– The taggers are more likely to be under age 40

– 29% of the taggers are male and 27% female

– 32% of taggers are in the age group of 18-29 and 18% are 65+

– 23% of taggers have dial up Internet connection at home

– 38% of taggers have broadband Internet connection at home

– 33% of taggers are English-speaking.
