AOL has appointed Ted Cahall as Executive Vice President of Platforms Business Unit. Mr. Cahall will report to Ron Grant, President and COO of AOL.


AOL has appointed Ted Cahall as Executive Vice President of Platforms Business Unit. Mr. Cahall will report to Ron Grant, President and COO of AOL.

Mr. Cahall will oversee AOL Search, e-commerce, publishing platform and tools, the MapQuest service and other local-based services, according to AOL.

The Platforms business unit will provide users with the tools and content they need to:

– efficiently utilize the Web, and

– increase communication and information sharing among consumer-focused lines of business.

Ron Grant, President and COO, AOL, said: “We are delighted to have a seasoned business and technology executive on board to manage these important AOL platforms. Ted has a wealth of experience that will help us continue to improve our search, e-commerce and local offerings, extend our lead in online mapping services, and put real-time information in the hands of end users moments after it is published”. Previously Mr. Cahall was Executive Vice President and COO of Classmates.com. He has also worked as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President at CNET Networks.
