The survey involved 121 of Fortune 500 companies.

Survey Findings

Key findings of the survey conducted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s Center for Marketing Research include:

– 42% of respondents are “very familiar” with social media

– 38% are familiar with Message / Bulletin boards

– 26% said that social media is “very important” for them

– 19% of respondents blog

– 27% use social networking sites

– 36% are familiar with blogging

– 31% are familiar with online video

– 30% are familiar with podcasting

– 16% are familiar with wikis.
