Wikio, a news search engine that searches media sites, blogs and member publications, has received €4 million in funding from Lightspeed and Gemini.


Wikio, a news search engine that searches media sites, blogs and member publications, has received €4 million in funding from Lightspeed and Gemini.

Wikio is going to invest the funds for building a technical team and infrastructures.

Wikio is going to launch the site in German, American, Spanish, French and Italian. Wikio is also planning to launch another English version of the site in the second quarter of 2007.

Wikio has also announced the joining of Ouriel Ohayon, general director of the Lightspeed-Gemini Internet Lab and editor of the French version of TechCrunch, Wikio’s board of directors.
