eBook Marketing: 5 Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make

1. Thinking you are going to get rich overnight.

When you hit an emotional chord with people they will buy from you. And anyone who understands Internet marketing knows that making money without having to work hard for it is very appealing to people. So too many marketers try to appeal to that aspect of human behavior. And they get away with it because there are people who have made over a million dollars with a single product release and that captures the imagination. And it does show that anything is possible, however, these cases are rare and involve months of planning and that is what people don’t realize.

2. Creating More And More Products Without Marketing The Products You Already Have.

If you are passionate about your subject and most of us are, it’s easy to get caught up in creating new products without taking full advantage of the products you already have. The problem is that it costs money to create new products. So focus on maximizing the profit on each ebook or product before creating a new one. (If you need an up sell, find an affiliate product, or create something quickly like an audio version of an already existing ebooks for example.)

3. Not Focusing On List-Building

Sometimes it seems like there is so much to do that you just don’t have time to do everything. And it’s true you don’t. But be sure to continue to build your list on a regular basis. Otherwise your list will become old and tired and you won’t make any money with it.

4. Not Giving Yourself Enough Time To Market An eBook Or Product Properly.

To launch an ebook, a workshop, or a product takes planning. You will have to decide how you are going to market it. And, if you are going to joint venture (and you should) you will need to give your potential partners enough time to get you on their schedule. You will also need time to create support materials, web pages, bonuses, and arrange for live testimonials if possible. You will have to decide on payment plans, methods for payment, your guarantee and more. And remember it always takes longer than you think.
So give yourself enough time to do it right.

5. Not Leveraging Each Product You Make.

I see so many people write an ebook, put it on their website and then complain because they aren’t making any sales. You have to leverage it. Find ways to use it to deliver your message and make sales either directly or indirectly. And find as many ways as possible to deliver the same material over and over. You will maximize your profits while you minimize your workload!
