One out of ten online consumers watch TV broadcasts online, according to the Consumer Internet Barometer released by The Conference Board and TNS.

The Conference Board and TNS surveyed 10,000 households across the country.

Key findings of Consumer Internet Barometer include:

– Personal convenience and avoiding commercials are the top reasons for watching TV broadcasts online

– Two-thirds of online consumers log on daily for entertainment purposes

– 16% log on for entertainment several times a week

– Three out of five online TV viewers said that personal convenience is the major reason for watching TV broadcasts online

– 62%t log on to Internet for news content

– 50% go online for entertainment viewing

– 53% of viewers stream the TV shows from the Internet

– 49% of viewers download the TV shows from the Internet.
