Vint Cerf, VP and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, has announced that Google CEO Eric Schmidt has been appointed a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Cerf says, “Eric Schmidt was formally inducted as a member of the National Academy of Engineering this past Sunday at the National Academies building in Washington, D.C. Upon receipt of this well-deserved honor, Eric was warmly greeted and high-fived. Congratulations, Eric — your Googlers are proud of you!” [source]
