Creating Additional Revenue Streams on Your Product Delivery Web Site
There are of course many advantages built into building, running and maintaining a successful product delivery web site, but one of the most significant is the fact that additional streams of revenue can be built into such a site. The smart web site owner will rely not only on the steady stream of income brought in by subscribers and repeat customers, but on advertising and affiliate income as well.
One of the best things about the internet is the fact that it lends itself so well to these multiple streams of revenue. One great way to bring in additional revenue on any web site, no matter how large or how small, is to sell products for affiliates. The internet is teeming with quality affiliate programs, and many of them pay a substantial commission to owners of popular web sites. When a web site visitor clicks a link and purchases one of the affiliate’s products, a percentage of that sale is credited back to the owner of the referring web site. This revenue stream can be anywhere from a couple of dollars a month to possibly thousands of dollars a month depending on the traffic to the web site and the products being sold.
When considering this approach, however, it is important for the owner of the product delivery web site to choose those affiliates carefully. Ideally, the affiliates chosen should not only be related to the focus of the product delivery site, but also offer high quality products and good value for the money. Simply filling every inch of real estate on your web site with affiliate links is likely to do nothing but turn off potential customers. It is better to choose only a few high quality affiliates, and focus on making sales for those affiliates.
Luckily, there are plenty of affiliate programs that are perfect for the smart product delivery web site owner. The percentages these affiliates pay will vary from program to program, but in most cases the percentage will be at least 20%. Some affiliates will offer commissions as high as 50% or even more, but it is important to balance the likelihood of selling those items on your product delivery web site against the value of the sales you make.
