Yahoo! and Symantec have launched ‘Norton Internet Security provided by Yahoo!’, a new security suite featuring Norton AntiVirus and Norton Personal Firewall.


Yahoo! and Symantec have launched ‘Norton Internet Security provided by Yahoo!’, a new security suite featuring Norton AntiVirus and Norton Personal Firewall.

According to Yahoo!, Norton Internet Security provided by Yahoo! protects consumers online by:

– ‘Detecting and blocking spyware, viruses and unwanted adware

– Blocking intruders and identity thieves

– Filtering spam

– Scanning e-mail and instant-message attachments to remove viruses, Trojan horses and worms’.

The new suit will be available through Yahoo! services including Yahoo! Toolbar, Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! HotJobs, according to Yahoo!

The companies are offering a free 30-day trial of Norton Internet Security provided by Yahoo! After the end of free period, the companies will charge $49.99 annually.

The suit is available for download at ‘http://downloads.yahoo.com/security’.

Symantec and Yahoo! are also offering other services, such as:

– Norton spyware scan for Yahoo! toolbar

– Symantec Yahoo! toolbar

– Yahoo! online protection now featuring Norton AntiVirus and Norton personal firewall

– Norton AntiVirus scan for Yahoo! Mail and HotJobs.
