3 Fast Options on Building Your Web Site

It’s something I often hear from prospects and clients… “I need to get my website… I when I finish my website… when my website is done… I can’t do that until my website…”

The solo entrepreneur ends up in a catch 22 situation. Their budget doesn’t allow hiring someone so they decide to create their website, only to discover it takes skill and html knowledge to crank out a website. You end up wasting so much time building your website and not your business.

Can you let go of perfectionism? Then, I’ll share some tools and tips that can put your online presence up and running with very little web design knowledge, time, and money.

Before you begin your quest for a website solution, answer these questions:

* what is the immediate purpose of my website…sales or content or both? * who is my target market? * and what is the long term vision of my website?

The answer will help you determine the best option for getting your website online with the least amount of effort on your part.

Let’s look at three options to creating your website fast:

1. A Blog ““ What? A blog for a website? You’ll be surprised how many sites are blogs… our site Simple Time Management is an example. Your site will be up and running in no time. I tried various blog programs and found Word Press the best, and it’s free! http://www.wordpress.org

Starting with a pre-made template, you begin adding content right away and automatically generate your RSS feeds. You’ll find hundreds of templates to download. You will still need to devote some time to learning how to use WordPress. The online documents provide excellent tutorials and the support forum can answer your questions.

I recommend selecting a Cpanel hosting company with Fantastico AutoInstaller. Fantastico will auto install your WordPress blog. The company I’ve used for several years is http://www.reselleredge.com/ Derrick gives outstanding customer support.

Customizing a WordPress template is challenging if you don’t know PHP. You can always hire somebody later to create or alter the template for you. Remember the goal is to get a working website site up now.

2. Using Templates ““ You want a more traditional site and you know some html and own Dreamweaver or some other html editor, but lack graphic and design skills. Boxed Art gives you so many web templates for one great price. You will find more graphics, templates for newsletters, postcard, ebook covers and so much more. I’m graphically challenged and find this site an invaluable resource. http://www.findwebsuccess.com/templates

3. Website in a Box ““ If you don’t want to deal with any scripts, html, php, installations, finding a host, registering a domain, creating RSS feeds, search engine submissions, etc. this might be the answer. For the cost of regular hosting fees, Site Build It gives a ton of tools to create and run your online business.

You’ll find a great community forum and Ken constantly improves this program. I found it a great time saver and really like the keyword tools. It’s one I recommend to many of my clients and they are very happy with it.

I could write a whole page on benefits of this site building program. Instead, you can investigate if this program will meet your needs using the Quick Tour Feature. http://www.findwebsuccess.com/tour/

If you find yourself delaying getting your web business off the ground, try one of the options above. The less time you spend on your website, the more time you can invest on marketing and driving traffic to your website.
