The best traffic backend today

For those who are interested in running websites and especially blogs, you may be interested to invest some time and effort into building a forum for your web traffic.

So what’s the core differences between a forum and a blog?

A blog allows you to express your thoughts and ideas in a place, where visitors can leave comments about the things that you are currently discussing about. It’s easy to use and really simple to maintain without much hassle.

Everyone who’s interested in the publishing business knows how hard it can be to continously run an active blog and dedicate themselves to keeping it active by posting at least 3x a week. If you stop posting any less, you will find that your traffic will slowly die off…and soon enough it will be all gone.

So what’s the big deal about a forum?

A forum is not like a blog. It is a system which allows groups of people to start discussions around a theme related to your interest. For example, internet marketing (which can involve adsense, marketing, SEO, and all sorts of related topics. The biggest difference is… your website will survive without you, if you have a set of loyal visitors on the backend (which is your forum). It doesn’t matter if you stop posting updates, or have to take a long holiday, your forum is there to work for you automatically, allowing visitors to chat and mingle around, create more threads (content) and drive more traffic back to your site.

Sounds like the most perfect, legal way of traffic and content generation as well as brand building? Yes! In fact forums have been around for the longest time but alot of new comers to the web publishing world have still not yet realised the benefits of having a forum as a powerful backend.

We all work very hard to drive traffic to our websites and blogs, but we do not know how to retain the traffic properly, and get the traffic to interact with one another. FYI, Ambatch’s forum just started about 4 nights ago and has already nearly 200 members! At this rate, we can expect to hit about 8,000 – 9000 members by end 2006. And what can 8,000 – 9,000 opt-ins do for you? Let’s go figure… 😉

So for today, just think about what kind of forum would suit your interests and business. I will continue my next post on how to start one and generate the most important element (momemtum) a huge problem that EVERY new forum admin will face…

And if you have any questions you would like me to answer with regards to forums, feel free to register on our forum, and post a question. We are more than willing to answer your queries.. 🙂
