– European ecommerce market has reached €40.2 billion, a 51% increase compared to €26.6 billion in 2004.

– Ecommerce accounts for 2% of total European retail sales.

– Mintel forecasts that the European ecommerce market is expected to grow 186% between 2005 and 2010.

– Ecommerce will account for 5% of total European retail sales by 2010.

– 65% European adults have access to internet.

– 80% of these adults are earning members.

– 50% of internet users have purchased from a website they were browsing.

– France will experience a 200% increase in online retail sales between 2005 and 2010.

– UK will experience a 102% increase in online retail sales during the same period.

– Germany will experience a 93% increase in online retail sales during the same period.
