Simplicity and convenience are critical while providing online security measures, , according to a report by RSA Security. Consistency of process gives consumers a perception of simplicity, according to the report.

Additional key findings of the report include:

– Financial services need to constantly reassure users regarding security of online information without alarming them.

– 70% were ‘very interested’ or ‘extremely interested’ in information on security measures, including risk-based authentication.

– 81% of consumers said they would be more comfortable while banking online if these security measures were implemented.

– 87% said they were interested in site-to-user authentication.

– Over 50% said they were interested in both site-to-user authentication and risk-based authentication.

The usability testing and research was conducted for 12 months by the RSA Security Usability Lab.
