Click fraud has reached 14.1% in the second quarter of 2006, according to a report by Click Forensics. This is an increase from 13.7% in the first quarter.
Click fraud has reached 14.1% of search-related ads in the second quarter of 2006, according to a report by Click Forensics. This is an increase from 13.7% in the first quarter.
Additional key findings include:
– Click fraud on terms costing over $2 per click reached 20.2%.
– Average pay-per-click term cost across industries including retail, financial services, health and fitness, technology and entertainment decreased to $4.51 compared to $4.75 in the first quarter.
– Click fraud on Tier 1 search engines including Yahoo and Google reached 12.8%, compared to 12.1% in the first quarter.
– Average click fraud rate on Tier 2 search engines, including Ask, Lycos and MSN was 20.3%, compared to 21.3% in the first quarter.
