According to the report by FTC, credit cards and online payment services are safer while purchasing online.
The report also advises that when a consumer uses wire transfer while making purchasing from an online auction site, there is no way to get their money back in case something goes wrong.
According to the FTC, safe payment methods for shopping online include:
– Credit cards
– Online payment services
– Debit cards
– Personal checks
– Cashier’s checks
– Money orders
– Escrow services
The FTC also advises consumers who suspect that an online auction transaction is fraudulent should immediately report it to the FTC and to the auction company.
