Internet ad spending will grow 76% between 2005 and 2008. Global ad expenditure will grow 6.1% in 2006, according to a report by ZenithOptimedia.

Key findings of ZenithOptimedia include:

– Internet ad spend will account for 7.0% of worldwide ad expenditure by 2008

– Internet ad spend accounted for 4.7% in 2005

– Internet ad spend will be US $23,939 million in 2006

– Total worldwide ad spend will be US $ 418,803 in 2006

– The five largest advertising categories are retail, auto, telecommunications, medicine and
finance.
