According to McAfee, from September 2004 to July 2006, the time taken to double the number of threats has decreased by 60%.

Since January 1, 2006, McAfee has added 32,000 new threats to their database. The company predicts that there will be 60,000 new threats by the end of the year.

McAfee expects to record the 400,000th threat within two years.
