On Local online advertising, $1.3 billion will be spend in 2006, according to a new report ‘Local Online Advertising: Measuring the Potential’ by eMarketer.

Key findings of eMarketer include:

– Local ad spending is 7.9% of the total $16.7 billion in US Internet ad spending for 2006

– Paid search contribution is 40% of the total US online ad spending market

– Paid search provides 55% of the local total

– Local Ad spending will reach around 10% of total US advertising in 2007.
