Google Desktop Launches Gadget Contest

Google Desktop has launched Google Desktop Gadget Contest. The contest invites developers to develop gadgets for Google Desktop.

The first place winner will be awarded a $5,000 reward.

Additional prizes include:

– $2,000 reward for the second place winner

– $1,000 reward for the third place winner

– Limited edition Google Desktop Developer T-shirt for developers of approved gadgets

The contest ends on Monday, July 31, 2006.

Google also announced that developers can use the Google Desktop Gadget Designer to create the gadget.
