DSL subscriptions increased 39% as of 31 March 2006, according to a report by DSL Forum. Worldwide DSL subscriptions reached over 150 million.

Additional findings include:

– 43 million business and residential users chose DSL for broadband access.

– 11.5 million new users subscribed to DSL in the first quarter of 2006.

– China, with 29.3 million subscribers as of 31 March 2006, ranked as the top country.

Other countries in the list were:

– USA: 22.2 million

– Japan: 14.5 million

– Germany: 11.1 million

– France: 10.2 million

– UK: 7.9 million

– Italy: 7 million

– South Korea: 6.4 million

– Spain: 4.2 million

– Taiwan: 3.7 million

– Canada: 3.4 million
