Yahoo! Local supports hCalendar, hCard, and hReview microformats on various business listings, search results, events, and reviews, according to Yahoo! Local blog.
Microformats are “a set of simple, open data formats built upon existing and widely adopted standards. Instead of throwing away what works today, microformats intend to solve simpler problems first by adapting to current behaviors and usage patterns. e.g. XHTML, blogging.” [source]
Microformat will give more control to users over their data, according to Yahoo Local blog.
Vince Maniago of Yahoo! Local Team, wrote: “With our microformat support, we’ve opened up new data and new possibilities for the developer community to build upon, to make tools that will be genuinely useful to all our users”.[source]
