Verizon has launched Verizon Web Calling. The service allows Windows Live Messenger users to make outbound calls, long distance and international calls from their computers.

Verizon’s new service is available only through Windows Live Messenger.

Windows Live Messenger is an instant messaging service. The service also connects users to their blogs, emails, search functions and other Windows Live services.

Customers who purchase Verizon Web Calling now receive up to 1 hour of free calls to anywhere in the world.

Verizon Web Calling allows customers to make calls by clicking an entry in their contact list, or by typing a phone number into the Windows Live Call online dial pad.

Verizon delivers broadband, wireline and wireless communication technologies.
