eBay is going to use VeriSign’s Intelligent Messaging Network to deliver mobile alerts to its users within the United States, according to VeriSign.

The VeriSign Intelligent Messaging Network will send SMS alerts to mobile devices of eBay users.

eBay users include individuals and small businesses trading their items on eBay website. eBay users can register for alerts on the items pages on eBay.

Verisign will offer outbid notifications and end-of-auction alerts to eBay users. The outbid alerts will allow eBay users to re-bid directly from mobile handsets.

VeriSign is an SMS service provider.
