230,000 UK People visited a sports or gambling website between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday, June 15, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.

On June 15, England won a match against Trinidad & Tobago in FIFA world cup.

Key findings of Nielsen//NetRatings include:

– One in ten people online visited a sports or gambling website on Thursday June 15

– Visitors to sports and gambling websites increased by 40% on Thursday June 15

– 449,000 people visited BBC Sport website

– Sports fans averaged eight minutes online, gambling fans averaged 13 minutes
