Consumers’ loyalties are threatened by poor web application performance, according to a survey by Empirix.

According to the survey, this is especially true of online banking and online shopping.

Additional findings include:

– 91% respondents gave up on websites after three failed attempts at conducting a transaction.

– 36% said they will not conduct any business online with a particular website due to negative online experience.

– 20% said that negative online experience made them stop business transactions completely with a particular company, including online and offline transactions.

– 44% said they have encountered website malfunction between one and four times a week.

– 22% said they encountered such problems daily.

– 92% said they shop online.

– Over 30% said they spend at least £50 per month on online shopping.

The survey was conducted among 2,000 UK web users.
