Omniture has launched Omniture ActionSource. ActionSource is a web analytics solution for reporting on Flash-based applications.

ActionSource provides native support for ActionScript. ActionScript is the programming language used for Flash.

ActionSource enables programmers to measure and optimize rich-media across multiple channels, with features including:

– Performance

– Implementation

– Accuracy

– Time-to-market

ActionSource captures data directly from source. ActionScript does not require any JavaScript interaction.

The product enables portability of applications across web properties.

AutoTrack is an additional feature of ActionSource which enables customers to measure Flash activity without coding individual elements of Flash applications.

The service tracks click action and determines whether a click is related to a button or a movie clip and then captures and sends the data for reporting.

Omniture ActionSource is currently available in a controlled release for selected customers.
