Google is building two computing centers in Dalles, on the bank of Columbia River, according to New York Times.


Google is building two computing centers in Dalles, on the bank of Columbia River, according to New York Times.

New York Times wrote: “The complex, sprawling like an information-age factory, heralds a substantial expansion of a worldwide computing network handling billions of search queries a day and a growing repertory of other Internet services”. [source]

The network created by Google is known as “˜Googleplex’ in the industry.

After the opening of Google’s center, local real estate prices will jump 40% and 60 to 200 new jobs will be created in the town. Google is having 450,000 servers at 25 locations around the world, according to New York Times.

Microsoft and Yahoo have also announced that they are building their data centers in Washington.
